The Spacecraft Monitoring & Control (SM&C) Working Group of the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS), which sees the active participation of 10 space agencies and of the Object Management Group (OMG), is defining a service oriented architecture consisting of a set of standard end-to-end services between functions resident on-board a spacecraft or based on the ground, that are responsible for mission operations.
The MAL-JORAM is the first implementation of the MAL spécification on top of the JORAM asynchronous middleware.
The CCSDS Message Abstraction Layer (MAL) provides message abstraction and generic service patterns to the Mission Operation (MO) services.
Within the CCSDS we have specified, implemented and followed the standardization of Java MAL API. This API should become an official book of CCSDS in 2011.
MAL-JORAM is the first implementation of the MAL and it has allowed the certification in blue book of this specification. Due to qualities of JORAM, this implementation has many properties in terms of reliability, scalability, decoupling, etc..
ScalAgent completed several implementations of the MAL specification, one of them the MAL-AMQP enables the use of an AMQP provider.
